i'm curious what you think.
its getting close to the time of pregnancy that our midwife said she could fairly accurately guess the gender of the baby. up to this point, 35 weeks tomorrow, i've thought cheerio is a boy. i've nothing to go on, other than intuition, but that intuition was right with luke. i'm not sure if my intuition is based on my past experience or if it's true intuition. that's not possible for me to determine. but, these pregnancies have been very similar, aside from how tired i've been this go-around.
the old wives' tale says that if the heartrate is faster than 140 its a girl; 140 or slower is a boy. that was also correct with luke. his heartrate consistently was slower than 140.
over the last month, cheerio's heartrate has been 156, 138 and, today, 153.
let me know what you think! vote in the poll on the right and leave a comment below letting me know how you voted. cheerio is due at the end of august, and i'll leave the poll open until he or she is born. there will be a small prize for someone who guesses correctly.
so, go vote!

i voted boy! maybe because i've got a house-full of boys, it's simply all i can imagine you & michael with too! either way, we'll be thrilled!
ReplyDeleteWell, Caden's heartbeat was always really high...like 160's and 170's so I thought Rigg was a girl because his was high too...all the way to the end. So I have no idea...Stacey's boy and girl were both in the 140's...
ReplyDeleteMom (G) says girl.
ReplyDeleteBy intuition, she says that both Suzanne and Rebecca were going to be boys.
I voted girl, but the heartbeat thing wasn't correct for me. My first boy and girl were both between 130-140. In fact with my girl, my OB said if she had to guess based on heartbeat she would have guessed boy (she was wrong). My most recent boy had the fastest heart rate at 150-160 so I have no idea. Are you going to find out or just be surprised?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I do realize that most normal, sane people don't travel within the first few weeks of their baby's life. HOWEVER...we had to travel when Sienna was 2 weeks old and we'll be traveling in mid-October this year for my best friend's wedding, so...anyway, it does happen. :)
ReplyDeleteI voted boy. I'm with Mama intuition. lol
ReplyDeleteI voted girl. Not because that's what I think it is for any reason, but because I want to be there the day that Michael holds his baby girl. I see the way he looks at our Ella and I just WANT you guys to have a girl!
ReplyDeleteI guessed a girl, but I really have no idea. Hey it's a 50/50 chance!! :)
ReplyDeleteI said Girl. Probably just because you have a boy now. Who knows??! Can't wait to meet the baby.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I voted girl. Merely because that is the order our children have come...boy, then girl. It's so fun raising one of each. The differences are amazing, even from the very beginning. Either way, this little one will be blessed.
